WOWOWOW! This is a knockout book! I was gripping the edge of my seat more than half the time, during the read/listen, and the mysteries uncovered with a were well worth it!

While I do think the story could’ve been a little shorter, I’m glad all the questions I had were addressed. Bonus points for the narrator, and for Ruth Ware writing an AWFUL villain.
Connor was not only a dictator on the island, killing the men with his bare hands, but he was also abusing his girlfriend! To make things even worse, this horrible scum had awful misogynistic views, a YouTube follower base of moronic men backing him up, and was a nasty predator, only dating teenage girls! He was DISGUSTING!

I also DO wonder why Lyla - a scientist-
wouldn’t look at all the details of the reality show, before agreeing and signing contracts. It felt very out-of-character for Lyla to say yes to such a thing, when she comes off as incredibly pragmatic and logical. Maybe if she was depressed, or dealing with something heavily distracting beforehand, her yes to the show would’ve been more realistic. But saying yes to do the show, all because her boyfriend wanted his last chance at an acting gig, and she thought he was too cute to say no?
That’s fairly unrealistic in my opinion.

Other than that, this was a great book and it felt like a movie or a survivor-like tv show, and it really worked. Highly recommend!!
