I Hope This Doesn't Find You
by Ann Liang
I am totally regretting why haven't I picked this book before. I got hooked up all the way through and I surprised myself on how fast I finished this book.
If anyone want to know how to write Academic rivals to lovers, they should learn from Ann Liang.
As much I loved the characters dynamic throughout the whole book, I loved more on how the author covered their each struggles and how they both have helped each other to overcome it, that makes their dynamic much stronger.
Often the characters who are youngest in their family are portrayed as bright, cheerful, spoiled, and one who gets their way. And, I am glad the author broke the stereotype and showed the other side of being the youngest. (For example, the urge to fix everything, to be useful, overcoming the shadow, never been first choice). the way the characters overcame their fears, struggles, and the comfort they received, the whole process somehow comforted my 17-year-old self along the way.
Maybe it is good thing, I picked this book later, because I think this wouldn't have left me this much impact if I picked earlier.
