None Of This Is Serious by Catherine Prasifka

3.0

I really enjoyed how much of a genuine depiction of a young Irish woman in her twenties this was. It felt very realistic and relatable and I loved the commentary on the various challenges that a woman this age would face, especially in Ireland.

I though the whole concept of “the crack” was so interesting and I felt as though it reflected the pandemic, it was interesting to read something that caused the world to have such similar reactions just like the pandemic did.

I loved the writing style and how the main characters dialogue wasn’t so obviously written (for example in speech marks) because it gave the character a more honest tone and it also felt extremely immersive.

The only fault I have with this book is that because of the writing style and how into the characters head you get, it became quite heavy at times due to her pessimistic personality and attitude, I also think some TWs at the beginning of the novel would’ve been useful.
