A re-read for me! I read this when I was younger and I loved the movie as well, so there's a lot of nostalgia factoring into my enjoyment, but it really is an excellent story at any age. The prose is so sparse and simple, yet Gaiman is able to create a foreboding atmosphere; already knowing the plot beforehand made seemingly innocent lines more unsettling. This is one of those magical little books that I'll keep on my shelf forever.  Someday I'll try the audiobook!
