The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James

*Writes a book set in Oregon:*

Proceeds to call it a DUI instead of a DUII (This one REALLY bugged me... like please do your research!)
There's somehow good public transit in (rural) Oregon? Keep dreaming!
Creates an imaginary town instead of setting a ~horror~ novel next to Devil's Lake, OR

Also, it just bugged me that this book, advertised as a mystery novel, was super paranormal. Not what I signed up for... Imo most ghost stories are poorly written and this one didn't exactly change my mind. And not to mention all the copaganda!

When I was in high school, I liked Simone St. James' writing, but I think at this point I have maybe outgrown my love for her novels. Not sure if I'll be reading her next publication.
