The Rabbit Hutch by Tess Gunty

dark mysterious medium-paced

3.75

The caliber of writing carried this entire book. If I didn’t love Gunty’s craft so much, I would have been very disappointed that I read nearly 400 pages of untethered plot lines that remain untethered until the end.

The characters themselves, esp. Joan and Blandine, were incredibly dynamic.

I would 1000% read Gunty’s future novels because of how much I enjoy what she communicates through intentional diction. However, the plot of this one built up nicely until it just….stayed there? It felt unresolved and anticlimactic at best.

Give me more Gunty with a bit more of a polished plot, please!
