Falling for Gage by Mia Sheridan

medium-paced

Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: N/A
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I was interested in Gage's character after his mentions in Archer's Voice and Travis. The book started off strong with several laughs and a spicy scene.

I liked Rory's character. She had a fun sense of humor, especially at the beginning of the book. Gage's character was fun at the beginning but became less interesting further into the book.

I liked the plot. It was a mystery for Rory to unravel and I enjoyed reading as she did.

So, why didn't I love this book? In short, without spoiler: The wrench the author put into their relationship.

The author added a brief forbidden element to their relationship that just ruined the pairing for me. She learns Gage's father is one of several men who could potentially be her father. They get a DNA test but spend a good chunk of the book fighting their attraction because their possibly half siblings.  Then when they get the dna results and learn they are not related, the things they say for me were just unnecessary amd a huge turn off. The relationship never recovered for me after that.
