King of Flesh and Bone by Liv Zander

4.0

I loved how this has plot and not just pure smut that are in a lot of dark romances. After ending up in the King's court, FMC tries to save the world by convincing the MC to spread rot so that the dead can actually die instead of wandering around like zombies. MC stopped his duty of spreading rot because of a mortal betrayal from long ago. The action, spice, FMC that can stand up for herself, twists, and cliffhangers were great and made me want to keep reading.

The writing is confusing sometimes with some words/jargon used I didn't understand as an American. First half of the book, the explaining of the world setting wasn't too good and I didn't know exactly what was going on with babies dying or the dead. Also strange insta love when the King said he hates all mortals but decides to keep the FMC and a bit of stockholm syndrome happens. In the end, I do like them being together though with the character development.
