Wow. I had initially been reluctant to read "Girl in Pieces" due to its rise in popularity on BookTok, which often praises works that are underwhelming and just overall lacking (or just plain bad), but damn, I'm so glad I did. I've been struggling to get back into the habit of reading, often lacking motivation and/or interest, but this book had me in a chokehold. Beautifully written, introspective and fucking angelic. This book will leave you reflecting for a good while. Though I can't say I relate to Charlie in all aspects, I couldn't help but grow invested in her character and story, which conveyed that same sense of hopelessness within me that I've struggled to articulate or even understand entirely, and that feeling of being so lost and out of place in a world where everyone seems to have their shit together (and also Riley's tendency to self-sabotage and unwillingness to get better, but that's something I'll have to unpack later). But perhaps most importantly, "Girl in Pieces" gave me hope, a feeling I've deprived myself of for so long. A hope that things can get better. That I can get better. And for that, I'll forever treasure this story, and keep it in mind when confronted with "momentous" times. A must read for anyone struggling in life and a reminder that you are not alone!
Fuck you, Riley West (I still can't completely hate him).

"You be you, Charlotte. You be you."
