This paranormal fiction is filled with edge-of-your-seat adventure as Grace, Hudson, and all the fantastic characters navigate difficult choices, their own sorrows, and a self-righteous antagonist. This team of young adult students has come a long way since they began at Katmere Academy, and we see even more personal and heroic development as they fight for each other and for others. This story is action-packed. I can't wait to see what comes next.

At first glance, this book is long, with so many chapters. This book begins with Hudson's POV; after the battle, he is with Grace in his room, and she seems out of it. But we get a first-hand look at Hudsons fears and why. They have been thru a lot together and lost some very good friends. Hudson realizes what he must do and blames himself for all that is gone.

This book gets young adults steamy nothing is overly described, but some are insinuated. Grace goes on an adventure with Alistair and gets a truth bomb dropped on her. Lots of drama and political plotlines are almost like moves on a chessboard for Grace and her friends. However, the adventure and life and death situations don't stop; there is always another piece of the puzzle to complete the ultimate task.

I love Hudson and Grace together; they work so well and compliment each other. I also love the entire cast and crew of Jaxson, Flint, Macy, and others in this story. This book gets sad as our team of unlikely heroes gets outsmarted and loses people I never saw, from the vampire court to the gargoyle court; this book sure does contain a ton of adventure.

This story is nail-biting good as we watch Grace navigate through so many choices and grow as a person and a Queen. The adventure doesn't stop there, and so many pieces get revealed. I'm amazed at the interconnections. This story solved many issues in the past books, so I'm interested to see what will come next. But this story did end right before another adventure.
