Ooh, good gracious! I absolutely loved this book, much more than the first in the series. We follow Bridget, the newly-appointed crown princess of Eldorra, and her bodyguard Rhys. I was a huge fan of the spice in this book, but even more impressed with the storyline.
Bridget and Rhys started off rocky, but eventually fall into a comfortable rhythm. Soon enough, they begin to realize their feelings - although they can never have a truly happy ending.
Eldorra has an ancient law that forces the royals to marry someone of noble blood to take the throne. As they navigate sneaking around and Bridget’s impending coronation, they quickly realize their time together will soon be ending.
Both unable to accept that, Bridget and Rhys take on a daring quest to repeal the Royal Marriages Law and finally allow themselves to be selfishly happy.
I got the exact ending I wanted from this book, and I appreciate every bit of it!
