Renegades by Marissa Meyer

With contradicting but deeply provoking proof that superheroes are an unwelcome ideal, this book is a refreshing perspective from society’s perceived villain. Author’s foreshadowing is intricately woven into her writing but the plot twists are abrupt and surprising- they will rip a smile across your face. This book is a beautiful battle between opposing morals that will have you questioning your own and society’s today. While this was not my favourite romance, the plot twist will shock you to your core until you realize it was there all along. I was laughing so hard during the interrogation scene, harder than I do for any book among many many other scenes. The end of this scene of course however just stung my eyes. I wonder if Ace’s relationship with Nova is love disguised as manipulation, true love or his own twisted version of it.
