I’m truly not sure what I was expecting when I opened this book, but color me surprised (in a good way).

I picked this one up because a book bestie had read the series & recommended it, so, I went in blind (other than the synopsis).

Cue the giggling, screaming, and jaw drop.

Prisca is such a bad ass FMC serving serious feminine rage. Her development through the book was A1. Instead of cowering and trying to fade into the background, she listens to Lorian’s voice (in her head), bears down, and gets shit done.

Speaking of Lorian… I do love a well done brooding, morally gray fictional fae male. God, he was written WELL.

Stacia gave readers a book full of angst, tension, secrets, and even a bit of spice. A glorious combination, if you ask me!

I struggled a little with the world building, but I truly believe that was a me problem - I read this on my kindle and didn’t have the foresight to just look up the map on my phone and reference it when needed. Rookie mistake.

Very excited to see what book two has in store!
