Five Minutes Longer by Victoria Sue

3.0

*3.35* This is a MM, law enforcement, enhanced humans (think X-Men), virgin H, movie-like story. It had SO MUCH potential.

Finn has wanted to be an FBI agent sense he was 14. He has a shitty home life including an a-hole brother, a father who was a wounded veteran (eventually took his own life), and an awful, self-centered mother.

Talon is an enhanced human who doesn't want a human partner.

You can clearly see what the author had in mind for these two, but the relationship isn't developed very well, it's clunky and disjointed. Finn had decent character development, but Talon was a complete mystery.

The story reminded me of one of those old MF historical romances were the h gets injured, she proves herself over and over again and the hero is a complete ass. And then at the very end of the book the H is like nvm my past behavior, I was a jerk and now I love you.

The biggest drag on this story was the multiple on top of multiple misunderstandings.
