The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

5.0

'There are so many pieces to a person. So many small stories and so few opportunities to read them.'
.
A young boy sees a door painted on the wall of an alleyway near his home. He is tempted to try and open it but ends up walking away. Years later Zachary finds a book in the library that has no title, but he is weirdly drawn to it. He reads it and stumbles upon a chapter about a fortune tellers son who chooses not to walk through a painted door. It was him, but that's impossible, how could he been in this book?
.
I've honestly never read anything like this book, it felt like I was in a dream the whole way through. Every single page is magic, Morgenstern has a way with words that I've never experienced in an author before. I found myself savouring every single line, constantly rereading my favourites over and over. There is so much bookish goodness in here that I have a feeling every single one of you would love it. This book is magical madness at its best and I can't wait to reread it already.
