It’s hard to really explain Lost Souls. There’s a lot of incest, for starters. It’s unbearably goth. It’s shockingly well written. There is, at the end of the day, something really great about it.

I love this book, truly, madly, deeply etc. It’s one of a kind. It knows exactly what it is and doesn’t pull any punches about it. You have to respect something so quintessential to the genre (of goth, of nonsense, of splatter punk or of transness before it is recognised). It’s sort of perfect.

In its own way.
