His Secretary: Undone
by Melanie Marchande
Hmmm, first off parental warning instances of the F word alone = 180. This is in the same narratorial (is that a word?) vein as Walking Disaster or Beautiful Bastard.
Meghan is a plus-sized PA to a billionaire playboy with a potty mouth and zero people skills. They have a hate-hate relationship where they routinely call each other names and put each other down. Meghan hates her life and her job until she finds a book about a similar couple who end up having a torrid sexual relationship. She finds the book erotic and soon becomes an avid fan of the author, going so far as to write to the author and enter into email correspondence.
Then one day her boss makes a request, will she impersonate said author at a book signing - apparently he has been writing these romances under a female nom-de-plume!
Now I was really enjoying the book, potty-mouthed abuse and all, until there was a half-hearted attempt at BDSM - I am SO over all of that 50 Shades crap and this didn't seem to ring true.
Then towards the end it all went a bit to pot. Both Meghan and Adrian appeared to vie for the most fucked up childhood/issues and quite frankly I got bored with it all.
Not sure I could recommend - half the book I would definitely give 4 stars, the other half 2 stars
