⭐️⭐️⭐️
I flew through this one in just two days! The story follows Hollis, a well-known food blogger, who’s grieving the sudden loss of her husband after a fight and a tragic accident. In an effort to heal, she invites four women—her closest friends from different chapters of her life—for a luxurious “Five-Star Weekend” in Nantucket. Childhood bestie, college ride-or-die, mom friend from raising her daughter Caroline, and her newest virtual friend from her blog community. I loved this concept. How cool would it be to bring together all your “life era” BFFs in one place?
There’s a twist, secrets, drama (though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more!), girl talk, shopping, and of course, those dreamy Nantucket vibes. The ending was a little too neat for me to fully buy into, but it still left me smiling.
That said, I’ll admit I’m guilty of comparing it to 28 Summers—which I adored—and this one just didn’t hit quite the same. It was fun, fast-paced, and a perfect light summer read, but didn’t stick with me the way her other book has.
Still, it’s made me wonder… who would I invite to my Five-Star Weekend? 👀💭
Let me know if you’ve read it—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
