Goldilocks

ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏᴍᴇɴ ᴡᴇʀᴇ sᴛᴇᴀʟɪɴɢ ᴀ ᴘʟᴀɴᴇᴛ. ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴡᴇʀᴇ sᴛᴇᴀʟɪɴɢ ᴀ ғᴜᴛᴜʀᴇ.
The earth is dying. Women are being forced out of the workplace. Five women take matters into their own hands, steal (back) a spaceship, and fly it to a distant planet that may be mankind’s only hope. But there are plots within plots, and schemes are about be to brought to light as they hurdle towards an uncertain future in this impossible mission.
ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ ɪs sʟᴏᴡ. ᴜᴛᴏᴘɪᴀs ᴀʀᴇ ʟɪᴇs.
Goldilocks is a feminist piece of science fiction, and it doesn’t let you forget it. The messaging was just exceedingly heavy-handed without any nuance or subtlety. I’m also not a big fan of environmental fiction, but at least that aspect was not as in-your-face. Otherwise, this is a fairly straightforward thriller with a few twists and turns that keep it entertaining.
