 For once, I actually preferred the movie over the book. While I really enjoyed reading about the world Diana Wynne Jones created, as well as the whimsical adventures the characters went on, it felt like the story was all over the place. It took me over a week to read it, I thought it wasn’t very engaging, sadly. The movie was a lot more well-rounded in my opinion. Still, it made me really excited to rewatch it and compare the differences between the two.
