This was a solid rom-com with some surprisingly reflective moments. Did I predict the arc of the story almost immediately? Absolutely. This is a rom-com, after all. But that didn't diminish my enjoyment. What really stuck with me was how much I felt Phoebe, especially the way she tries to appear “normal” and keep everyone comfortable, even when she’s kind of falling apart. It was a surprisingly thoughtful meditation on the masks we wear to seem “normal” and the moments that force us to ask: at what cost? It definitely made me think about all the ways people-pleasing can hold you back or keep you stuck in safe, small versions of your life. Would recommend if you’re into character-driven stories that explore self-worth, letting go of old narratives, and the bravery it takes to live more honestly… with just enough romance and chaos to keep things fun.
Moderate: Suicide attempt
Minor: Self harm, Suicidal thoughts
