The Silence in Her Eyes by Armando Lucas Correa

3.5

I was completely hooked during the first half of The Silence in Her Eyes. The premise was fresh, the tension was palpable, and Leah’s perspective of living with akinetopsia made for such an immersive and unsettling read. I couldn’turn the pages fast enough!

But then…the ending happened. And unfortunately, that’s where the book lost me. The buildup was fantastic, but the conclusion felt convoluted and left me more confused than satisfied. I don’t mind a good twist, but I really don’t like when a book leans too heavily into ambiguity, making it hard to tell what actually happened. Instead of feeling like a well-earned reveal, the ending felt frustratingly vague.

If you love psychological thrillers that keep you guessing (and don’t mind open-ended conclusions), this might work for you. But personally, I was left wishing for a clearer resolution.
