I’m a sucker for a good slice of life story, not big and sweeping or epic, but regular people living regular lives and trying not to be terrible.
I really, really identified with Sigrid’s hesitation about growing up, but also feeling free for the first time when she met her best friend and they drove around a little drunk. The sister relationship was so real. My sisters make me crazy, but I would
destroy evidence and make bomb threats for them, too.
Austin’s dry way of writing and casual-ness in covering heavy topics may not be for everyone, but I also discuss the bad stuff I’ve been through in a similar way. If I can’t mention it it or make kinda dark jokes then I’ll die and that makes some people uncomfortable.
