Bride By Coronation by Maggie Cole
4.0

My first Maggie Cole book and I really enjoyed it!  This hit all the boxes when it comes to want I want in a dark mafia romance- all the dark edge, plenty of mafia intrigue, romantic tension, and all the alluring desire. It feels pretty on trend mafia wise- and was entertaining from start to finish.  The chemistry was there, the hero was delicious, and the spice was definitely spicing.

Fiona is the class strong mafia heroine. Strong, complex, and unshakably resilient, even when faced with impossible choices. And as any mafia lover knows, our heroine always face some incredible odds- women trying to survive in a mafioso's world. And then there’s Kirill, our tortured, enigmatic, and utterly magnetic leading man. A classic morally ambiguous mafia leading man who draws you in with his dark edges and intense energy.  This was a slower burn than I expected, and the tension really brews. But when they get there, things really heat up. There is some depth to their connection that evoles over time, and there is a good intensity between them.

I'm new to Maggie, but I did enjoy her writing style. The book is immersive, there's a good balance of romance and mafia action, and despite there being some overarching stuff and me not reading book 1, I was able to jump right into the world.  It was a fast and engaging read, and I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the world.
