4.5 ⭐️ This one hit hard for me. The Glass Castle is a memoir about a dysfunctional family, but it reads very matter-of-fact in a way. Maybe it is because most of her memories come from when she was a very young child, but the author doesn’t go into describing the emotions she felt throughout the events in her life. She doesn’t give really any insight to how some of these events impacted her, which is the one thing I wished we got more of. I was shocked by many things she had to go through and cannot imagine how she must’ve felt.
