I knew from the title that there would be a lot going on in this book… but… there was a lot going on in this book and details and inconsistencies got in the way.
But honestly, that isn’t why I didn’t enjoy it.
I was sort of intrigued by Mae and who doesn’t love a dark and brooding antihero like Rogue? When I realized I had sort of read this story before… and then it came to be when there was almost a word for word scene that reminded me so strongly of Sarah MacLean’s Wicked and the Wallflower that I actually found the scene and double-checked. This felt like questionable fan fiction with too many tropes or storylines to be enjoyable.
