This is a generous 3 star rating. I loved the girls series so I was excited for this but it let me down.

90% of the plot was about Gary and not about the girls and their friendship which was disappointing.
I spent almost the whole book hoping the relationship with Gary would end. I understand Ellie needed a love interest & maybe the author wanted to keep the original characters but having a relationship with an old teacher was just not believable. I know they are both adults but it still creeped me out.
plus I hated Gary which is a shame because I liked him in the original series.

I also feel like we didn’t get to know much about Nadine & Magda’s lives it was all very surface level. Ellie’s daughter Lottie wasn’t in it as much, talked about yes but other than that no, however
I hated Lottie and her dad story, just seemed pointless

Overall I enjoyed it, but only because of the original girl series. It has some potential for another book which I would be open too because I’m not too sure if I’m happy with how we left things with Ellie and the girls ect.

I am very happy she’s gay now tho, seems a nice fit for her
