The Prey by Andrew Fukuda

4.0

The Prey is the Second book to THE HUNT by Andrew Fukuda, i didnt know this until i seen other reviews. However without reading the first one it was easy to pick up the storyline.

The prey starts off with action, the group are on a boat and are doing as the scientist says "Stay on the boat." until they are thrown down a waterfall and eventually find themselves in a place the rather odd locals refer to as the mission. Where nothing is quite the norm. Girls overpopulate the town and most are "pot bellied" and nothing but shy smiling clones.

I found the story from the start very gripping and a nice change, i was expecting a zombie book though so i did find that a little disappointing, the writing in the book is very well done, very descriptive, a little to the point where i did skim read quite a bit just to get to the point.
The action did start dwindling after the team are off the boat but the weird world they enter is enough to keep the reader wondering what the heck is going on. and what is with the pet hunter!?

overall the book was interesting and i quite liked it, that being said i havent read the Hunt and from what reviews ive read it is apparently more action fuelled and a better read. Im content to just end on this one though =]
