Edit: this is five hundred THOUSAND words long. FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND WORDS LONG! That's longer than the ENTIRETY of the Lord of the Rings. I am bowled over, staggered, unbelieving, uncomprehending. I knew this was going to be long but I thought it would be, like, 300k. This is so fucked up. This is so crazy. I cannot believe I read this. No goddamn wonder it took me months to read.
I was going to give this 4 stars but bumped it up a whole star for the Occula-in-Urtah chapter (no spoilers). It was worth reading this entire book just for that chapter!!! The Shardik callbacks...fuck!
