Renee does a great job of building a world and bringing you into it. This is a solid story with Cistine, a princess, who is trying to do right by her country by visiting an old enemy of theirs. In the process, she’s captured and quickly learns how ineffectual she is. A natural bookworm, Cistine has learned everything she thinks she needs to know from books. The rulers of this enemy land show her that you need more than books to get what you need for a kingdom. I can’t wait to see where this series go. Good news, it’s a complete series, so any cliffhanger can be quickly resolved!
