This note perfectly sums up my Dark Currents reading experience: I don’t have many thoughts, I’m just vibing.

This was a fun read, and made me remember how delicious slow burns are. It felt so much steamier compared to book one even though literally nothing physical happens. The relationship building between Amaranthe and Sicarius is pure gold. I was shocked when she just came out and told him
that she loves him
though.

Also, I'm really glad I read Shadows Over Innocence. The prequel added so much insight into Sicarius' background, but also left as many questions as answers.
