The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

I have an affinity for cute and whimsical things. I also love being reminded of the simpler (and arguably more logical) mindsets that we as adults have lost throughout the years.
The juxtaposition of the attitudes of The Little Prince and the pilot is portrayed so beautifully but also so painfully in this book. Every person The Little Prince encounters could be compared to at least one person in our lives and maybe even ourselves, if we boil it down enough. I found myself guiltily sympathizing with the businessman who collected stars, for example. I'm a bit greedy that way.
This is also amongst the 5 books (so far) I have read that have made me cry, and more specifically amongst the 3 that have made me ugly cry. I love this book, I love the symbolism, the innocence, the aesthetic, everything. A very wholesome yet reflective book indeed.
