28 Days: A Novel of Resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto by David Safier

4.0

This book does what no other young adult historical world war 2 fiction book has done before. (I've read a lot so I know a thing or two lol). This book really strives to show every terrible aspect of the Warsaw ghetto and what the Germans did to the Jews and even what Jews did to their own people. It's a highly thought provoking book which explores the things you'll do to stay alive and keep your family alive. My main problem with it (and the reason I gave 4 stars) was that the character survives nearly certain death so many times I lost count which made the book feel a little unrealistic. I also thought that the very last sentence of the book was horribly cliche and it made me real mad.
