Aftertaste by Daria Lavelle

medium-paced

5.0

So, this book has all the things I enjoy in life: delicious (defined by the eater) food as a meaning for life and memory and story, the ups and downs of being part of a family, and love and the pining and longing...oh, the longing that comes with it.

Bittersweet is my favorite.

This book does all the things that good books do. You know it makes you wish for those you love who have passed on, wondering what meal is their aftertaste. And, if somebody wanted you back, what meal is their memory for you. What would bring you back to them?

I'm typing this while tearing up at little. This book is more than a book, and its ending is everything.

Love is the answer, and we get it through the food we share with others.

So glad that I won this book in a Giveaway on Fable!
