I just could not get into this. The passing was completely off, the storyline wasn't making any sense and I was not understanding the magic system wasn't making sense either. (and you might be thinking well YEAH, you didn't get very far into the book of course the magic system wasn't fleshed out. But I could already tell from the info dumps that we were being given that the magic system/world just wasn't adding up for me personally. Which I'm really bummed about because I LOVE stories about witches, the lore behind their magic, their do's and don't's, if its earthed based, or more to do with spells/incantations, or more energy based. But this? I felt like the author couldn't decide on which one, or wasn't making it clear that the magic that these witches had was just what it was and it manifest itself differently for each witch). But it honestly is all because of the writing. The info dumps were so choppy, so just THERE in your face that I was getting confused as to what was happening in literally the first 40 pages. While the concepts and the plot of the story sounds AMAZING, I can't continue reading on. RIP
