Festive in Death by J.D. Robb

5.0

Wow.

I acknowledge the genius of Robb/Roberts.
This book was great. Not for the mystery- though that was solid - but for the characters in this series. I kept being afraid the mystery would wrap up before the Christmas party and Christmas. And then we’d miss it.

Because that’s what I really read these for - the ongoing nuggets and gems of the family of characters.

And how even the principles constantly evolve. Like the run of Eve misquoting aphorisms and idioms. Or the allusions to shared history from other books.

I’m at ... 39 of 50 or perhaps more, if you count short stories in there and already I’m torn between going back and starting over and going on- because I want to savor.

This series, I think it’s getting better. I’m enjoying it more. I’m finding myself bypassing other TBRs to continue.

Awesome.
This was one of my favorites so far. I’m so glad the party doesn’t get interrupted by the plot.
