The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
4.0
“And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone.”
I finally did it, I read this book.
I made a feel about the hype around this book, and I truly believe all the hype is worth it. This book is truly captivating, a beautiful tale of love & loss, a tale of heroism, and the battle against right and wrong.
The love that Patroclus and Achilles have for each other, the way their bond would see them walk to the ends of the earth, jump off a cliff, or set themselves on fire - it’s the reason you want to see this book until the end. Seeing how their journey plays out was the motivator to get through this book, and the end will leave you overwhelmed with emotion.
Highly recommended.
“It is right to seek peace for the dead. You and I both know there is no peace for those who live after.”
