On Beauty by Zadie Smith

5.0

I really loved this book. It's funny, because I chose this book because A) it was recommended to my on Amazon.com, and B) because it has the same title as my favorite poem. Little did I know that the author of that poem is married to the author of this book. Small world, eh? Anyway, I think [author: Zadie Smith] really captured the struggle of this multiracial, multicultural, multigenerational, multifaceted group of people. While they're not the average family by idealistic standards, they may be a lot more like the average family than we think. I mean, they're no Leave it to Beaver, but they're very real.
