When you have the first book to compare to, this one sure was a disappointment…😅
It started out well with an interesting plot and new characters being introduced with so much potential! However, by the middle of the book, Xaden and Vi’s relationship quarrels were just repetitive and annoying and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes every time they had another fight. Even worse, all the interesting new side characters they introduced? The author must have gotten amnesia, because we learned nearly NOTHING about them! The only thing they were good for was to fuel Xaden and Vi’s arguments or to serve as a tool to a plot point. It was extremely frustrating to read.
Another thing that made me really frustrated and annoyed was the fact that the author kept throwing things at us in the plot that just made no sense! And even things that could potentially be believable, she gave us no explanation as to why they were happening, they simply came out of nowhere…I’m sorry, but that’s just not acceptable writing in my opinion.
I’m hoping the next book will go back to having the quality of the first one…
