Bride by Ali Hazelwood
5.0

I almost didn’t pick this up because of the reviews. People out here writing like they expected Lord of the Rings: Vampire Edition. Listen, this is not a heavy epic fantasy. This is vampires, werewolves, a marriage of convenience, and Ali Hazelwood’s signature brand of witty chaos.

And I loved every second.

Was the plot groundbreaking? No. Did I care? Also no. Because I was too busy giggling at the banter, enjoying the tension, and rooting for a vampire bride who has better comedic timing than half the comedians on Netflix.

It’s fun. It’s silly. It’s charming. It was the perfect break between my usual diet of gothic heartbreak and broody “everyone dies in the end” reads. Like taking a little vacation from despair to sip cocktails with vampires.

So if you’re scrolling reviews wondering whether to skip it—don’t. Read it for the joy of it. Sometimes you need a book that makes you grin instead of cry.
