You Know It's Love
by Jen Morris
I read this in one sitting! This book was full of layers, angst, and plenty of steam!
Cat is a prickly woman scorned by several men in her life including her cheating ex husband, her abandoning father, and other skeevy men who have had a lot of audacity and entitlement. These experiences have made her cautious of men and is keen on guarding her heart. She owns and operates a vintage clothing store and is trying to find her footing. She is falling short of her full potential, but is insecure and blind to her talent and fierceness.
Myles (insert heart eyes) is the new tattooed, hunky bartender at Cat's brother's bar. He is drawn to Cat from the moment he sees her and is willing to get close to her and show her, her excellence in any way he can, even if it is only by designing her store's website, being a stand-in fake boyfriend, and just good friend. He is ride or die and we stan soft cinnamon roles like Myles ❤️
Cat is an overly cautious character with abandonment and trust issues. She's stubborn, yet tender and is just yearning for stability, genuine connection, and trust. And Myles is more than willing to give those to her *swoon*.
All in all, this was a very enjoyable romance that will have you rooting for them and their HEA the entire time ❤️
There is:
-Sunshine/grump reversed trope (hero is sunshine, heroine is grump)
-Fake dating trope
-Open door romance
