Wires and Nerve, Volume 1 by Marissa Meyer

5.0

After reading through six novels, it’s nice to fall into a format that I genuinely enjoy: graphic novels. It’s also nice to visit this familiar format with all of my favorite kiddos, especially since this story focuses heavily on Iko.

I’ve always loved Iko, so for her to get some spotlight sparks joy in me. Also, Enemies to Lovers between Iko and Kinney? YES PLEASE!!!

I’d probably rate this closer to 4.5/5 instead of 5 stars, but it’s mainly based on the graphical standpoint, not the story standpoint. I enjoy the art a lot, but I also read an abundant amount of graphic novels and manga and it would have been nice to see more variations in panelling and staging the characters within the scene to get a better sense of space. The larger panel spreads were nice though, and I got a sense of location and movement for the most part.
