Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

4.0

This is one of the books where you go WTF? I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it’s even better when you listen to the audio of it. It really brought the words to life I was able to vividly picture everything. The ending got me like what in the world lol. I really gave this book 4 stars because it undoubtedly was a great book. I enjoyed that that character was going through grief of his son and how he was able to have another one with The Female. This book came out right after the pandemic hit and it had occurred to me that this was based on the pandemic in a way… it made me think about capitalism, poverty and the lengths that people or should I say the elites would go to to survive. To make sure they make money in any way possible. It also made me think of slavery, human trafficking. I loved this book, it wasn’t as gruesome as it was to others. The only thing I would have changed it the ending… this book could have been even longer. I finished this in a day. Everyone should give this a read. It really makes you think about the world we live in today and how we could possibly end up like people in this book.
