It’s a shadow of Anne of Green Gables and is absolutely missing something that makes Anne so fantastic. I can’t quite put my finger on it because they did have a lot of comparable content, it must just come down to the authors. I didn’t feel the same lifting of the spirit as I do when reading Anne. I found myself uninterested and wanting to give up multiple times. I kept putting it down and looking to see how much was left. I just didn’t connect with this one.
