Petrified Women by Jeremy Ray
4.0

I quite enjoyed this! It's an effective short horror story. Clocking in at about 90 pages, it manages to create tension and dread well, and I found myself connected to the main character in a relatively short amount of time. I appreciated how the author handled the MC's past (CW for sexual assault, here)––he did a wonderful job, there.

And, I gotta say, ever since the weeping angels (don't blink), statues have been one of my favorite inclusions in horror/creepy narratives. That remains so here. They're great.

I'd definitely check out more from this author!
