I feel like I need to think about this a lot more. Also go do a lot of research into how well this represents the culture and religion that frames the entire story. Also, I should have guessed the

cat would die from the title,

but the way it happened really took me off guard. I don't know what to think about this book. The illustrations in this edition are beautiful! And the little poems from the housekeeper are interesting. I feel like the ending would go over many kids' heads.
