No Visible Bruises: What We Don't Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us by Rachel Louise Snyder, Rachel Louise Snyder

5.0

Another book that I wish everyone would read, No Visible Bruises debunks the myth that some men just "snap" and kill their partners with no warning. Through years of research and interviews with families, law enforcement, and women's advocates, Snyder details the formula that can be used in almost all cases of intimate partner terrorism (the author's preferred term for what we generally call domestic violence) to predict a woman's likelihood of being murdered by her abuser. You don't need to have any experience with this topic to benefit from this book's explanation of how a culture of toxic masculinity puts us all at risk, but no one more so than abused women.
