I had the hardest time getting into this book. Right from the beginning I didn't easily engage because I have a hard time with humiliation mined for humor. And that is how the book starts. With Eva being dumped on national tv by her fiance after winning a wedding competition and then having her meltdown caught on film by a network camera man. I felt sympathy for her. But that sympathy only lasts through the starting chapters.

I the end, I give this three stars because as a romance novel goes it ticks off all the check boxes. It has a pair of attractive protagonists, it has conflict and it has a happy ending. It is also a nice enough book and easy to read. But on the whole nothing really elevated the book beyond 'fine.' I think it came down to the fact that I had a really hard time becoming emotionally invested in Eva and Aiden. Instead of fully realized characters they felt like plot tropes. They are pitched into each other's company under contrived circumstances and they bicker quite a bit. So nothing unusual for a romance novel.

The plot had a lot of potential and I think the author did a good job with creating the type of atmosphere surrounding a reality show as well as all of the modern social media that goes into it. But that couldn't sustain an entire story where I really wanted to feel the chemistry between the two main characters.
