Thank goodness for the family tree at the beginning of the book because, like Bennett, I was completely lost between all the cousins, uncles and aunts šŸ˜‚

This is the first time Iā€™ve read a book by J. Saman, and I wonder why Iā€™ve never read another of her novels before. I kind of regret it because I really liked Undeniably Convenient

Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve read a book set in a hospital, and Iā€™m wondering why I havenā€™t, because for a long time it was my secret guilty pleasureā€”which Iā€™m now totally assuming, plus Harlequin Medical Romance books are pretty tame compared to what Iā€™m reading now šŸ˜‚ Put the pregnancy trope into the mix and Iā€™m a gonerā€”yeah, Iā€™m one of those people who like that trope, sue me šŸ¤£

I think one of my favourite things about this book was the banter between Katy and Bennett. Even though itā€™s crystal clear that these two are screwed up when it comes to their feelings for each other, that doesnā€™t stop them from teasing each other, and Katyā€™s comebacks made me smile a lot. The chemistry between these two characters is also incredible šŸ˜ and the spicy scenes are very hot šŸ„µšŸŒ¶ļø

What I also liked about this book was the fact that chronic illnesses are mentioned
(type 1 diabetes, endometriosis)
, without it being a way to fall into pathos. When youā€™re living with an illness, itā€™s always interesting to see how authors approach the subject in their books. Here I thought it was aptly dealt with, because even though itā€™s Katyā€™s everyday life, the book is not all about that.

I canā€™t wait to discover the second book in the series šŸ˜Š
