Thank goodness for the family tree at the beginning of the book because, like Bennett, I was completely lost between all the cousins, uncles and aunts š
This is the first time Iāve read a book by J. Saman, and I wonder why Iāve never read another of her novels before. I kind of regret it because I really liked Undeniably Convenient.
Itās been a while since Iāve read a book set in a hospital, and Iām wondering why I havenāt, because for a long time it was my secret guilty pleasureāwhich Iām now totally assuming, plus Harlequin Medical Romance books are pretty tame compared to what Iām reading now š Put the pregnancy trope into the mix and Iām a gonerāyeah, Iām one of those people who like that trope, sue me š¤£
I think one of my favourite things about this book was the banter between Katy and Bennett. Even though itās crystal clear that these two are screwed up when it comes to their feelings for each other, that doesnāt stop them from teasing each other, and Katyās comebacks made me smile a lot. The chemistry between these two characters is also incredible š and the spicy scenes are very hot š„µš¶ļø
What I also liked about this book was the fact that chronic illnesses are mentioned (type 1 diabetes, endometriosis) , without it being a way to fall into pathos. When youāre living with an illness, itās always interesting to see how authors approach the subject in their books. Here I thought it was aptly dealt with, because even though itās Katyās everyday life, the book is not all about that.
I canāt wait to discover the second book in the series š
