This book feels timeless. The dystopian setting is perfect to paint a picture of a society poisoned and addicted to the consumption of simple stimulation. There are all sorts of little details to make the world unique and immersive, which I enjoyed. I also love charismatic villains, and in just a few scenes I loved how Ray Bradbury depicted the one here. There was one section of the book that felt comical involving TVs, but apart from that multiple scenes really gripped me. I especially liked the pacing of the story’s escalation in intensity through to the end. The book ends on some thought provoking ideas and a scene that will stick with me.
